Dover Gymnastics Club is a friendly, well-run club fully affiliated to British Gymnastics (SE Region), and Kent Gymnastics Association.

We provide gymnastics training for more than 300 members from all over south and east Kent in the following disciplines:

  • Women's Artistic
  • General (Gymnastics for All)
  • Pre-school gymnastics
  • Floor & Vault (boys and girls)
  • Gymnastics for Adults

For details of these CLASSES, please click on the link, or contact us.

We are based in Holmestone Road, Dover and have a leased unit at the Poulton Close Industrial Estate which has been our home for nearly four years. Before that we were based in a former Salvation Army building in the High Street, Dover for twenty years, and before that at Dover Sports Centre. To read more about our developments over the past 31 years, please look at our CLUB HISTORY page.

The gymnasium has a large, permanent, sprung floor, vaulting table and horse, a set of A-bars, a single bar and a number of balance beams. We also have some other play equipment that we use to make the general and recreational classes fun and to help the children's gymnastic development. We also have a gymnasts' changing area, a small kitchen, male and female toilets, and an office with a tuck shop. Parents are welcome to see their children's lessons from the viewing gallery on the first floor.

We like to keep our equipment up to date and use internationally recognised Olympic suppliers such as Continental. We have a fun programme of FUND-RAISING ACTIVITIES that has included an American Supper, Sponsored Walk and Easter Egg raffle, and these together with donations from organisations such as Dover Fire Station's Silly Committee and the Kent Police Property Fund help us to pay for new equipment, and the on-going costs of running the club.

We run an annual Open Floor & Vault Competition which attracts many gymnastics clubs from across Kent and we have our own Dover Club Competition spread over a weekend in November which provides an opportunity for every member to compete and also to show parents, family and friends what they have achieved. We have been praised for the way we run our competitions and people say they like how friendly, well-run and professional they are. They are also an important part of our fundraising activities and we always have delicious bacon burgers, hot dogs and hamburgers on sale!
