Our first boys competition a big success
Dover Gym Club recently played host to its first ever Boys' Open Floor & Vault competition.
Thirty four boys from six different clubs took part in the competition, which was held to give the lads an opportunity to compete in a more masculine environment than usual general gymnastics competitions, where boys are markedly outnumbered by girls.
It was a great day and from all the positive feedback, something the boys really enjoyed and something we will do on an annual basis from now on.
We will be running a separate floor & vault competition just for female gymnasts on 18 July 2010.
All the gymnasts did well, as can be seen from the results below. We are particularly proud of our Dover boys who achieved six medals including two Golds, three Silvers and one Bronze:
